Venezuela : Puerto La Cruz Refinery Produces 170 Mbd of Fuel After General Maintenance.

President Petrleos de Venezuela, SA (PDVSA), Nelson Martnez, during his tour of the Puerto La Cruz refinery in Anzotegui state, highlighted the successful completion of the general maintenance carried out in this important operational area which guarantees an average production of 170 thousand barrels per day (MBD) of fuel.

The Bastion of Dignity, as this installation is also known after the defeat of the 2002 oil sabotage, currently generates 21 MBD of octane gasoline, 31 MBD of 91 octane gasoline, 30 MBD of automotive diesel, 10 MBD of jet , 8 MBD of light naphtha and 70 MBD in distillates and waste.

This production is in full compliance with the demand of the Eastern District, conformed by the states of Anzotegui, Sucre, Monagas, Delta Amacuro and Bolvar, which currently stands at 52 MBD of fuel 95 and 91 octane. It is also shipped by refueling high octane cabotage for gasoline production.

Martnez highlighted the very strong start of the activities of the units for the production of high octane gasoline components. "This week the distillation unit of the Puerto La Cruz Refinery started operations and next week two more plants will be started. In this way we meet the Eastern demand. Thanks to the workers we are producing 34 thousand barrels of fuel, "said the president of PDVSA.

During the tour, the president of the state; accompanied by the Executive Vice-President, V / A Maribel Parra; and the general manager of Refinacin Oriente, Nelson Martnez, emphasized the dedication with which the working class of the Puerto La Cruz Refinery has been working. "It is a highly qualified staff that demonstrated in 2002 and today, once again, continues to ratify its immense commitment and loyalty to our Bastion of Dignity," said Martnez.

Martnez and Parra praised in unison the work of the personnel who worked in this scheduled stop of plant that allows to guarantee the continuity of the dispatch of fuel to all the national and international clients.

In this way, the timely and adequate maintenance allows the Puerto La Cruz Refinery, 67 years after its start, to reaffirm its great commitment to the production of the fuel needed by the Venezuelan people; in addition to continuing to contribute to the development of the country.
