Vein Center Houston Becomes Training Facility for HCC, CMA Program.

HOUSTON -- Vein Center Houston, a cosmetic and medical vein treatment center, announced today it has become an official training facility for the Houston Community College system. The center will be providing the training as part of the development of the Certified Medical Assistant program.

The Certified Medical Assistant program is accredited by the American Association of Medical Assistants and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Vein Center Houston will provide comprehensive clinical training covering tasks commonly associated with doctors' offices and ambulatory healthcare delivery systems. The hands-on training will supplement classroom and lab settings at HCC's Health Science Center.

"Increases in outpatient care facilities, physician offices and an aging population has made medical assisting one of the nation's fastest growing careers," said Mario Kapusta, M.D., Vein Center Houston founder. "We are pleased and honored to be one of the exclusive few medical facilities offering training for the CMA program. Our select few trainees will complete our program, as part of their clinical rotation, with invaluable, hands-on knowledge from an award-winning facility, which would otherwise be hard to obtain," he added.

The program is a significant part of qualifying individuals to sit for the AAMA CMA Certification Examination needed to earn the CMA credential. Candidates who graduate from a program accredited by the CAAHEP will be eligible.
