Variable-speed receiver.

A new series of receivers from Vicon Industries Inc. of Hauppauge, New York, provides variable-speed control of the company's ViStar25 series of pan-and-tilts and motorized zoom lenses. The V1305R-DC series can be used with any NOVA (RS-422) or Vicoax II (V1422) control system, controlling pan, tilt, zoom, and focus, as well as autoiris drive. Each receiver works in two modes--velocity mode and preset position mode. In velocity mode, pan and tilt can operate together at any required combination of velocities for smooth motion at very low velocity. Up to 79 preset positions can be stored in nonvolatile memory. A preset position defines zoom and focus as well as pan and tilt. In preset position mode, software ensures smooth acceleration and deceleration. Encased in a weatherproof enclosure, the receivers can also be equipped with a 25W heater.
