Vandals attack cables.

Coventry police are appealing for witnesses after vandals cut cable television and telephone wires.

About eight houses were affected in the attacks, at Brewster Close and Carver Close, Stoke Hill, Coventry.

Wires leading to the cable box on the outside of the properties were cut at about 1.30am yesterday.

Repairs were due to be carried out today.

Robert Featherstone, aged 78, of Brewster Close, described the attack as ``absolutely unwarranted vandalism.''
