Van destroyed in fire as main road closed by dramatic incident.

A van was completely destroyed in a fire that closed a main road.

The A41 Wergs Road in Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, was closed off by police at around 10pm on Monday after a van burst into flames.

One fire engine and five firefighters were called to put out the fire, which completely destroyed the van.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "We had a 999 call at 10.03pm to Wergs Road where a vehicle was on fire near the junction of Regis Road.

"We requested the attendance of the police as the incident closed the road.

"The van was completely destroyed," the spokesman added.
