Valspar Flooring joins U.S. Green Building Council.

Valspar Flooring, Wheeling, IL, has announced that it has joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a product manufacturer member. "As a USGBC member, Valspar will have a greater opportunity to play a role in green building issues," says Lysa Young, marketing manager, Valspar Flooring. "Valspar is extremely proud to be a USGBC member and of our continuing development of low-VOC products. These are both active steps in the long-term preservation of our environment."

USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. The LEED system consists of five categories: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
