DENVER, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Terry W. White, executive vice president of Centura Health, announces the appointment of Ruthita J. Fike as senior vice president/administrator of Denver's PorterCare Hospital and PorterCare Hospital-Littleton and Michael H. Erne as senior vice president/administrator, St. Anthony Central, St. Anthony North and PorterCare Hospital-Avista.

Centura Health is the newly formed health care organization announced last December which includes all PorterCare Adventist Health System and Sisters of Charity Health Services Colorado facilities. Centura Health is the largest health care system in the state with revenues of $1.3 billion and more than 14,000 employees.

In her new position, Fike assumes overall responsibility for the financial performance and operations of PorterCare Hospital and PorterCare Hospital-Littleton. She will be responsible for strategic direction, medical staff relations and integration and managed care strategy. She succeeds Richard Hale, who in February was named senior vice president, Managed Care for the Centura Health organization. Hale will now oversee all managed care services including contracting and support services for all Centura Health facilities and physician organizations.

Since 1989, Fike has served as chief operating officer and senior vice president of Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Shawnee Mission, Kan. She previously served as vice president/Market Development for Adventist Health System/North, Eastern and Middle America in Shawnee Mission, and director of Institutional Advancement for Union College in Lincoln, Neb. She earned a bachelor of arts degree in English education from Union College and a master of arts from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Erne, administrator of Provenant St. Anthony North and Provenant St. Anthony Central hospitals, will now also oversee PorterCare Hospital- Avista. His prior health care experience includes positions as senior vice president for Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, Calif., chief executive officer of Grossmont Hospital, San Diego, Calif., and administrator of Ventura County Medical Center, Ventura, Calif. He holds a master of science degree in business and public administration from San Diego State University and bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
