VP in Kirkuk to meet officials.
KIRKUK, July 6 (VOI) Co Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi on Sunday arrived in Kirkuk city to discuss several issues with local officials, a source from the city's provincial council said.
"On Sunday morning, Hashemi arrived in Kirkuk city and was received at the airport by Kirkuk Governor Abdul Rahman Mustafa," the source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq-Voices of Iraq, (VOI).
Kirkuk, an oil-rich and mixed city of Kurds, Turkmen, Christians, and Arabs, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
