VOICE OF THE SCOTTISH DAILY Mirror: Time bombs.

THOUSANDS of protesters will converge on Glasgow today to demand the scrapping of Britain's nuclear fleet.

And it seems they are supported by most Scots - as revealed in the Mirror today. The protesters' anger will be fuelled by news that a new US "son of star wars" system could be based in the UK.

It puts Britain's nukes at the top of the agenda - bad news for Jack McConnell who has backed Tony Blair's plan to renew Britain's ageing nuclear subs.

He says it would be wrong to scrap our nuclear deterrent at a time of global uncertainty. That may well be correct.

But it could well be a vote loser for Labour in the May Holyrood elections.
