VOICE OF THE DAILY Mirror: Beckett brief.

NEW Foreign Secretary Margaret Beckett knows who her friends are - and they don't include George Bush and White House warmongers.

Evidence that her predecessor Jack Straw lost his job because Washington complained to No 10 when he criticised threats to attack Iran is deeply disturbing.

The Prime Minister should have stood up to an administration that sucked us into a disastrous Iraq war and could do the same with Iran.

We hope Beckett does and says what is in the best interests of Britain, even if it means complaints from Bush to Blair.
