VITRO WINS $12.5 MILLION BEST-VALUE AWARD FOR NAVY TRAINING EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION SUPPORT

 SILVER SPRING, Md., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Vitro Corporation received a $12.5 million contract with the Naval Sea Logistics Center Detachment, Philadelphia, to provide systems engineering, technical, and management support services for the installation of combat systems training equipment. The award consists of a one-year contract with four one-year options.
 Vitro will develop documents and drawings to facilitate the installation of combat systems training equipment in U.S. Navy schools located throughout the United States and overseas.
 The Navy's training equipment upgrades involve combat direction systems, automatic detection and tracking systems, active/passive sonar systems and towed arrays, search radars, digital and analog navigation systems, missile/gun/underwater fire control systems, submarine fire control systems, missile launchers, gun mounts, and torpedo tubes.
 "Vitro will assist the Navy in updating training environments for a number of critical combat systems," said Gale Adams, vice president. "During this period of major changes to the Navy's training systems infrastructure as a result of the base realignment and closure initiatives, we offer continued support by our experienced personnel."
 The work will be performed by personnel in Vitro's Frederick, Md., office.
