VITAL HEART SYSTEMS, INC. RELEASES JUNE 30, 1993 FDA INSPECTIONAL REPORT FINDINGS

 BEVERLY, Mass./LA JOLLA, Calif., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The FDA Minneapolis District office conducted an inspection of Vital Heart Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: VHRTC) on June 24 and 30, 1993. This inspection was in accordance with the Minneapolis District work plans for June 1993 under the Compliance Program 7382.830C, Inspection of Medical Device Manufactures Tract II coverage. Results of the inspection indicate that the company has a current registration with the agency and revealed no GMP violations. No Form FD-483, Inspectional Observations, was issued. By law, the FDA is required to conduct routine compliance inspections on at least an every two-year basis. The most recent previous inspection was conducted on Dec. 31, 1991.
 This is the first inspection of Vital Heart Systems since the company allocated significant financial resources and personnel as it moved from a research and development entity into a sales and marketing enterprise. A key element of the company's strategy was the appointment of Dr. William Wustenberg as vice president of clinical studies and regulatory affairs. G.
