 VISTA PROPERTIES NAMES RAYMOND GARFIELD CHAIRMAN AND CEO
 DALLAS, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Vista Properties Inc., the Dallas-


based land development company formerly known as Lomas Realty USA, has named Raymond Garfield Jr. chairman and chief executive officer. Garfield was selected to be CEO and chairman of the board of Vista Properties, Inc. through a procedure set out in its Plan of Reorganization as it emerged from the Chapter 11 process involving a search committee composed of representatives of its Creditors' Committee as well as Lomas Financial Corporation, its former parent.In its search, the committee utilized the services of Lamalie Associates Inc. and its Dallas-based Partner, L. Lincoln Eldredge.
 Garfield will assume his new post on or about March 1.
 For the past four years Garfield has served as managing director and western region manager for the financial services division of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. Responsible for a network of 21 offices stretching from Texas and Colorado to California, Oregon and Washington, Garfield directed sales and financing of major properties throughout the western half of the United States. Among the financial services division's current list of clients are Pacific Telesis, Bank of America, Security Pacific Bank, Boeing, McKesson, and Mitsubishi Trust and Banking Corporation.
 For Garfield, who was born in Beaumont and reared in Dallas, the move to Texas represents a return to familiar territory. Vice president of real estate finance for the Southwest region of Salomon Brothers Inc. from 1984 to 1988, Garfield was also senior vice president and regional manager for the Dallas office of Merrill Lynch Commercial Real Estate from 1981 to 1983. From 1983 to 1984, Garfield was based in Connecticut where, as executive vice president and national sales manager for Merrill's commercial real estate group, he was responsible for the company's 14-office commercial brokerage operation.
 In 1973 Garfield became president of Dixon & Garfield, Inc., a real estate development and investment firm based in Dallas. Before that he was with Grady Jordan and Company, as well as EDS, where he served as vice president of systems engineer recruiting.
 A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Garfield served four years as a naval aviator and is a past president of the North Texas chapter of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association.
 Vista Properties is a national land developer with more than 55 residential and commercial projects in California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia.
