 VISTA CHEMICAL ELECTS NEW OFFICERS
 HOUSTON, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Vista Chemical Company board of


directors has elevated two members of senior management and elected three new officers, effective immediately. James R. Ball was elected to the newly created position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Formerly senior vice president of commercial, Ball now has manufacturing, environmental, and quality development activities added to his responsibilities for all business operations, and worldwide marketing. Ball, a member of the Vista board of directors, will continue to report to John D. Burns, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
 Bruce E.A. Larsen, former vice president of marketing, has been named to the position of senior vice president of commercial. His expanded duties will include responsibility for business operations, in addition to worldwide marketing and public affairs activities. Larsen will continue to report to Jim Ball.
 Mark J. Schneider, former manager of planning and business development, has been elected to the newly created position of vice president of olefins and vinyl, responsible for Vista's ethylene, vinyl chloride monomer, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin product groups. Schneider's promotion reflects a reorganization of Vista's Industrial Chemicals and PVC resin business areas to increase operating efficiency by combining strategically related products into one business unit.
 The alumina and solvents product groups will remain under the direction of Vice President Richard J. (Dick) Andersen under the new division of specialty chemicals. Responsibilities for Vista's PVC compound and specialty polymers products will continue as before under the direction of H. Richard (Rick) Flammer, vice president of Vista performance polymers.
 Commercial operations have been reorganized to combine product marketing activities with business area activities, under the direction of the respective business area vice presidents. Business area vice presidents Schneider, Andersen, and W.J.B. (Jan) Vogel, vice president of surfactants, will report to Bruce Larsen. Flammer will continue to report to Ball.
 Mary Ann Fisher has been elected to the position of vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary, responsible for all legal activities for the corporation. Previously, Fisher served as general counsel and corporate secretary. She will continue to report to Gary G. Draper, vice president of administration.
 Thomas H. (Tom) Huffman, former general manager of manufacturing, has been elected to vice president of manufacturing, responsible for Vista's production activities at its seven manufacturing sites throughout the United States. Huffman will continue to report to R. Debs Gamblin, senior vice president of operations.
