SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Visa U.S.A. and US Software Inc., based in Carter Lake, Iowa, today announced a joint marketing alliance to provide a full service, turnkey software package to support issuers of the Visa check card, Interlink and Electron deposit access products. US Software currently provides similar support to issuers of Visa's credit products.
The software package facilitates authorization, settlement, fraud reporting and transaction matching capabilities, among other services, for Visa member financial institutions issuing deposit access products. The software package also is instrumental in providing an effective in-house processing solution for members connecting to Visa. Additionally, the all-inclusive nature of the package is economical in terms of initial capital expenditure and ongoing operating costs. US Software's package is the only available product designed to operate in a workstation LAN environment and provides complete integration with a financial institution's existing demand deposit account (DDA) systems.
Linda Mock, group vice president of Visa International, said that the new relationship enables Visa to provide a streamlined, full-service option to card issuers. "In working with US Software, Visa has developed a product that directly packages much of the software needs for efficient processing of check card transactions. Together, Visa and US Software are able to assist our customers/members in establishing a presence in the burgeoning check card market in the U.S. and other countries."
"The initial response to our preliminary software promotion among Visa's members has been very encouraging. We are confident that our package addresses a market need for a comprehensive authorization and processing system," said Mike Rouw, marketing manager of US Software.
The software package is designed to interface with Visa's BASE I authorization systems, as well as the BASE II settlement system. The solution provides access to a financial institution's demand deposit system for on-line authorizations and for posting settlement items. It also provides transaction matching, risk management controls, exception activity reporting, and chargeback initiation based on Visa's operating regulations. Support for Interlink and Electron is provided by separate software package modules. The packages are economical, integrated, flexible, and easy to maintain and operate.
Visa members licensing software from US Software receive a 10 percent discount off the package price.
