VIRTUE APPOINTED HEAD OF BANKERS TRUST UNIT

NEW YORK, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ted Virtue has been appointed head of the US Loan Syndication and Trading Group of BT Securities Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bankers Trust New York Corporation. He succeeds Morgan St. John, who resigned from the firm last month.
Mr. Virtue, who is managing director, will also continue to be responsible for the firm's high-yield capital markets business.
"The bank loan syndication business has been a historical strength of Bankers Trust and remains a core business," said Mr. Virtue. He added that Bankers Trust has a strong commitment to meeting the financing needs of high-yield and investment grade borrowers and to doing so in both the bank and public markets, whichever is more efficient.
Bankers Trust has been a leader in the bank loan syndication market over the past decade and has earned a leadership position in the high-yield debt business since gaining underwriting powers. Earlier this year, the firm began building its investment grade capabilities in the bank and public markets, resulting in its selection last month as agent to syndicate a $2.3 billion bank loan for Eastman Chemical. Its leadership in bank loan syndications for leveraged borrowers is evidenced by its 1992 first place ranking in that category by Loan Pricing Corporation.
