VIRTUAL REALITY GOALIE FROM THE VIVID GROUP SHIPS

TORONTO, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Vivid Group of Toronto will showcase VR Goalie at NYC's Grand Central Terminal January 14-22 as part of the New York Skates celebration. Consumers will get a taste of a new arcade module for Virtual Reality sports simulations, based upon the Vivid Group's proprietary Mandala VR engine. At $28,000 these exciting modules are an essential addition to sports bars, theme parks, family entertainment centers, stadiums and arcades.
The Vivid Group's VR Sports utilize "virtual reality vision," a revolutionary technology which uses a video camera to bring users' live images into interactive video and computer graphic worlds. To play VR Goalie you step into the module and appear on TV in a virtual hockey net. Playing Goalie, you are surrounded by live video images of professional hockey players who are "virtually there." State-of-the-art 3-D audio puts you on the ice. As goalie you must anticipate players' puck passing tactics and defend the net from blistering shots. VR Goalie is available now. The Vivid Group will release several sports games this spring including soccer for World Cup season, volleyball and golf, with other popular sports scheduled for fall. VR Sports modules are exciting and challenging for users of all ages. They offer minimal wear and tear and rapid throughput because unlike standard VR systems, players need not wear anything to interact. No staffing is required, users just step in and play.
The Vivid Group has created popular attractions for such clients as Paramount Pictures, the NHL Hockey Hall of Fame and the Smithsonian, along with a weekly television show on Nickelodeon. Vivid Group directors Susan Wyshynski, Vincent John Vincent and Francis MacDougall bring 10 years of experience in location based attractions to the VR arcade marketplace.
