VIROGROUP, INC. ADDS TWO LAIDLAW ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC. EXECUTIVES TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CAPE CORAL, Fla., June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- ViroGroup, Inc. (NASDAQ: VIRO) has added two Laidlaw Environmental Services, Inc. executives, William E. Stilwell Jr. (age 49) and William D. Ridings (age 48), to its Board of Directors, it was announced today by Robert A. Fletcher, chairman and chief executive officer of ViroGroup. This brings the total number of directors to 11.
Stilwell is the president of Laidlaw Environmental Services, which is the second-largest hazardous-waste management company in North America and a subsidiary of Laidlaw, Inc. In March, ViroGroup completed its acquisition of the Environics environmental engineering operation from Laidlaw, in a transaction which also included a $2 million cash investment in ViroGroup from Laidlaw to fund further growth prospects, as part of the two companies' strategic alliance.
"The addition of these two highly respected executives to our Board is further proof of the synergistic benefits that ViroGroup has derived from this alliance," Fletcher said.
Stilwell has nearly 24 years in the environmental services and waste management fields, including 15 years with Laidlaw and a predecessor company, and previous government regulatory experience with the Department of Health and Environmental Control. He holds an MBA and a BS in mechanical engineering, both from the University of South Carolina.
Prior to joining Laidlaw in 1988, Ridings was vice president and controller of Cosmos Broadcasting Company. He holds an MBA in accounting/finance from Georgia State University, and a BS, marketing, from Ohio State University.
ViroGroup provides a full range of environmental, hydrogeological, hazardous-waste and solid-waste management services nationwide to correct and improve air, water and soil quality.
