VIRGINIA PLYWOOD HEADS TO FLORIDA

 VIRGINIA PLYWOOD HEADS TO FLORIDA
EMPORIA, Va., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Normally, Florida is a long

way to ship Virginia plywood.
But Georgia-Pacific employees in Emporia, Va., wanted to show their concern for the people of southern Florida by giving a donation of this much-needed product. What makes this donation unique is that these employees are giving their money and their work.
The 410 employees at Georgia-Pacific in Emporia make plywood, and they've collected enough money to send a load valued at around $10,000 to the Miami area. Friday, Grayson Mitchell, Inc., an Emporia-based trucking company, will deliver the plywood free of charge to Miami. This delivery is valued at $1,500.
This donation was coordinated through the Florida Governor's Relief Fund. The load, containing 1/2-inch rated sheathing, is heading to Cutler Ridge, an area near Miami, heavily damaged by Hurricane Andrew.
