 NEW YORK, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Virginia Electric and Power Co.'s $75 million new issue of 6-1/4 percent first and refunding mortgage bonds, due Aug. 1, 1998, is rated "A+" by Fitch. The credit trend is stable.
 This is a takedown from an SEC rule 415 shelf registration. Virginia Electric, headquartered in Richmond, provides electric service to a 30,000 square-mile area of Virginia and portions of North Carolina.
