VILLA STAR'S BOSS CLASH.
GEORGE Boateng is believed to want a move away from Aston Villa because of a clash of personalities with manager Graham Taylor.
The hard-tackling Holland international handed in a transfer request last weekend following Villa's final game of the season against Chelsea.
He said his interest in playing for Villa had faded and then there was talk of an end of season dinner joke backfiring with Boateng taking offence and asking for a move.
But now it seems as though Boateng is going because he cannot see eye to eye with Taylor.
Sources close to the player say the pair have had strong words over the past few weeks, culminating in Boateng asking to go.
Boateng was signed by former boss John Gregory three years ago in a pounds 4.5 million move from Coventry City.
And it was Gregory who pushed Boateng on to try and force his way into the Holland senior squad.
He did that last season and praised Gregory as a result.
When Taylor took over, Boateng said he would be happy to sign a new deal at Villa if they wanted him.
But it is clear he has become frustrated with life under Taylor and wants to go.
Boateng's mood boiled over at Leicester recently when he threw Paul Dickov's boot into the stand and earned a severe rebuke from Taylor when he was reported to the FA.
