VIKONICS ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTIONS

Low-Cost Alternative to Security Protection Will Benefit
 the Company's Dealer Network
TETERBORO, N.J., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Vikonics Inc. (NASDAQ: VKSI), headquartered here, today announced the introduction of TAC-200, a low-cost, integrated access control and intrusion detection security system designed for widespread distribution through the company's growing network of local dealers and distributors.
According to Ken Leon, vice president of sales, "TAC-200 will provide the same level of performance as Vikonics' larger security systems. It incorporates the user-friendly software technology we deliver to our military and industrial customers; and at less than $5,000, this product is attractively priced for smaller commercial markets."
Leon said both domestic and international sales are expected to be enhanced by the expansion of Vikonics' recently developed dealer program. "We initiated this program in late 1992, and, to date, 50 dealers representing strong commercial markets in the United States, Europe and Asia have been trained to market Vikonics' products. Products such as the TAC-200 will give our dealers a strong competitive edge in their respective markets."
Vikonics also announced the expansion of its Integrated Security Intrusion Detection System (VISIDS) line to service larger commercial and government customers. The VISIDS 3500 is a networked version of the VISIDS 3000, which integrates CCTV control and floor plans into the VISIDS UNIX-based integrated security system. The VISIDS 4000 offers a redundant CPU system that allows the system to continue running even if a computer CPU completely fails.
Vikonics designs, manufactures, markets, installs and supports a line of sophisticated, computer-based security systems. The company markets its systems to defense contractors, government agencies, general commercial customers and international markets through both direct sales and an international dealer network.
