VIETNAM'S FIRST DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE VIETNAM BUSINESS JOURNAL

NEW YORK, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- VIAM Communications Group, the publishers of The Vietnam Business Journal, announced today that the journal's November/December issue will feature an article by His Excellency Phan Van Khai, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This will mark the first time that a high ranking Vietnamese government official has contributed to an American business publication.
Mr. Khai's article is an appeal to American businessmen to become more active in the Vietnamese market. He cites Vietnam's abundant natural and labor resources as components that will add to Vietnam's chances of becoming the next Asian tiger. Mr. Khai calls for the normalization of all aspects of U.S.-Vietnamese relations. He writes, "We strongly believe that the good will and conscience of the American and Vietnamese people and the immediate and long term interests of the two countries will help overcome existing obstacles to bring about normalization and development of relations between the two countries."
The Vietnam Business Journal is the only publication of its kind in the United States that is devoted solely to Vietnam. Each bi-monthly issue features articles by the foremost authorities on the Vietnam market. Previous issues have included articles by Senator John Kerry, Nguyen Mai, the Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese government organization responsible for foreign investment, and Vincent Chan, the senior economist of Peregrine Brokerage Hong Kong.
In addition to the article by Deputy Prime Minister Khai, the November/December issue of The Vietnam Business Journal will include articles by Sesto Vecchi, whose law firm Russin and Vecchi has an active practice in Vietnam, Frederick Burke, the Chief Representative of Baker and McKenzie's Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City representative offices and Irwin Jay Robinson, senior partner of the law firm of Phillips, Nizer, Benjamin, Krim and Ballson and Chairman of The Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce. The Vietnam Business Journal will feature economic research and recommendations by the analysts of HG Asia.
VIAM Communications Group also publishes The Vietnam Business Yellow Pages, Vietnam's first nation wide business directory. In addition to over 2,000 company listings in 23 industries, The Vietnam Business Yellow Pages includes complete industry profiles, economic, demographic, and historical information.
