 VIEBRANZ NAMED PRESIDENT OF TIME INC. EUROPE
 LONDON, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Curt Viebranz has been named


president of Time Inc. Europe, it was announced today. He was president of Time Life Europe. In his new role, in addition to being responsible for Time Life Book activities on the continent, Viebranz will now also oversee Time Inc.'s magazines activities throughout Europe.
 Linos Kogevinas, who as publisher of Time Atlantic has been instrumental in guiding Time's considerable success in Europe, will be relocating to Los Angeles to assume a senior position as vice president/international at Time Inc. Ventures. Time Inc. Ventures is the Time Inc. subsidiary that includes all of Time Inc.'s worldwide development activities as well as its regional and spairman and chief executive officer and Don Logan, president and chief operating officer, respectively of Time Inc.
 Brack and Logan said: "Although magazines and books are decidedly different properties, they also share many similar characteristics. We felt that in the European marketplace, Time Inc. could gain some key strategic and operational advantages from having both areas report to one person. In Curt Viebranz, we have an accomplished executive ideally suited for this role."
 Viebranz joined Time Inc. in 1980. He spent a good portion of his career with HBO, Time Warner's cable programming subsidiary, where he rose to vice president & treasurer in 1984. He was vice president for finance & planning in Time's Video Group during 1985, he did a stint as executive vice president/finance & administration at the large consumer market research firm, SAMI/Burke Inc., from 1986 to 1988, and then served as president of HBO Video. He was named Time Life Europe's president in 1989.
