VIDEOCONFERENCING PROVIDES LINK DURING DISASTER

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Having recently acquired Radiance Videoconferencing only days ago, Pacific Data Images (PDI), a computer animation/special effects studio based in Sunnyvale, was able to communicate and receive updates from its Los Angeles studio directly following the Southland's major earthquake. The videoconferencing setup, which works by way of space allocated on a T1 line, allowed the two studios to communicate and receive information about possible damage and injuries suffered by the company and its employees when conventional phone and fax lines were down.
