 HEAD OF AUTOMATED WAGERING
 BOZEMAN, Mont., Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Larry Lippon, chairman and CEO of Video Lottery Technologies (NASDAQ: VLTS), today announced the appointment of David Horowitz as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Automated Wagering.
 "Since Automated Wagering became a subsidiary of VLT in June 1992, we have made the commitment to strengthen Automated Wagering's focus on customer service and meeting the precise needs of the marketplace," said Lippon. "In his previous experience with Automated Wagering, most recently as executive vice president-operations, David has exhibited the 'customer first' attitude and produced the results that will be the hallmark of Automated Wagering going forward."

 Horowitz will report to Rick Barber, president of VLT. The technical, operations, human resources and financial functions of Automated Wagering will report to Horowitz.
 "The sales and marketing functions of Automated Wagering and Video Lottery Consultants (VLC), the VLT subsidiary that supplies video lottery terminals and systems, will be combined to better serve our respective markets," said Lippon. "This function and Automated Wagering's international organization will report to Rick Barber, with an additional reporting relationship to David."
 Horowitz has been with the Automated Wagering organization since 1976, serving in several positions, including executive vice president- finance as well as leading the operations function.

 Automated Wagering provides on-line wagering systems and services to eight states, including Delaware, Florida, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Washington state, to the Norwegian National Lottery and to two off-track betting jurisdictions in the state of New York.
 Video Lottery Technologies, a pioneer in the development of video lottery terminals, central control system software and related services for the video lottery market, supplies control systems and video terminals in Montana and South Dakota, as well as in the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Alberta. VLT was recently awarded contracts to supply video terminals in Victoria, Australia, to the Louisiana Lottery and to the Oregon Lottery.
