VHB, an integrated planning, transportation, land development and environmental services provider, announced Jefferson Murphree, AICP, as the firm's director of environmental planning.
Working out of VHB's Hauppauge office, Murphree will oversee all environmental review and development projects on Long Island.
The former Town Planning and Development Administrator for the Town of Southampton, Murphree brings extensive public-sector planning experience to his new role at VHB and is well-known for his in-depth understanding of the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA).
He has worked on numerous town studies throughout his career on Long Island. Currently, Murphree is working on VHB projects including the Town of Riverhead's Calverton Re-Use Plan, Southside Hospital (North Shore--LIJ Health System), and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Murphree serves on the Planning Board for the Village of North Haven.
