VF CORPORATION COMPLETES ACQUISITION
OF APPAREL ASSETS OF WORK WEAR CORPORATION
WYOMISSING, Pa., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawrence R. Pugh, chairman, president and chief executive officer of VF Corporation (NYSE: VFC), announced the completion of the acquisition of the principal operating assets on Work Wear Corporation, Inc.'s. apparel division, which is based in Greensboro, N.C. The purchase includes manufacturing plants in Erwin and Alexandria, Tenn., Piedmont, Ala. and Vienna, Ga. In addition, Work Wear's central distribution center in Memphis, Tenn. and three regional centers were acquired.
Pugh stated, "Work Wear is a recognized industry brand name, and their product line will be an important addition to our existing Red Kap occupational and career apparel lines."
Donald P. Laws, president of VF's Red Kap division, commented, "We welcome the addition of Work Wear and its employees. The Work Wear product line will be operated as a separate business within Red Kap, with the consistent high level of quality and service that our customers expect."
