VERTEX SEMICONDUCTOR PURCHASES QUICKTURN EMULATION SYSTEM

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Jan 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Quickturn Systems Inc. announced it has signed a contract to supply the Enterprise Emulation System(TM) to Vertex Semiconductor, subsidiary of Toshiba America Electronic Components Inc. (TAEC). Vertex will use the Enterprise Emulation System for verification of advanced RISC processor designs. The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Bob Feretich, vice president of system IC's for Vertex, stated, "After extensive evaluations, we decided Quickturn Systems offered a complete, cost-effective emulation solution that could meet both our current and future needs. We were very impressed with the accuracy of the emulation during our benchmark, as well as by Quickturn's support of a Verilog co-simulation interface and automatic library development tools."
Ralph Zak, Quickturn Systems vice president of marketing, added, "More semiconductor companies are finding that implementing design verification with our IC and ASIC emulations systems gives them the ability to manage an increasing level of complexity and reach the market much sooner with a highly reliable product. This is increasingly important as semiconductors have become more complex and, in effect, computers on a chip. It's very gratifying to play a role in our customers' successes."
