VERTEX INDUSTRIES, INC. TO RAISE FUNDS TO MARKET ITS BRIDGE.NET DATA COLLECTION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MID-RANGE COMPUTERS

CLIFTON, N.J., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Vertex Industries, Inc. (NASDAQ: VETX) announced today that it has authorized the sale of 100,000 shares of its common stock, under Regulation-S, in the international market place. The offering is on a best efforts basis, and if fully sold, will produce a middle six figure capital infusion for the company.
In making the announcement, James Q. Maloy, president, said that the use of funds was primarily for the marketing and sales of its Bridge.Net software products.
"Bridge.Net(TM) is a unique data collection management system that provides a platform transparent development environment. Once a program is created it can operate on different platforms within a network without having to change any code. In addition Bridge.Net creates a seamless communications network between different platforms for real time data collection with peer-to-peer communication. The result is simplified programming and savings in programming time and costs.
"During the past 12 months Bridge.Net has been ported to DOS, RISC, UNIX and SOC UNIX operating platforms and now runs on about 90 percent of the systems in the mid-range market place.
"Therefore we are pleased to receive this infusion of working capital to begin an aggressive program, which will include standardized off-the-shelf, shrink wrapped marketing of the development system and many generic application programs. Previously Bridge.Net had been sold directly and through distributors and VAR's. Among customers using Bridge.Net are Newell Group, for Kmart; S&H Greenstamps; Mobil Chemical; Bell Atlantic; Ameritech; New York City Board of Education; Purdue; Fredericks; and C.R. Gibson," Mr. Maloy said.
