VERSAR ANNOUNCES CONTINUATION OF STEPO CONTRACT WITH THE U.S. ARMY

 SPRINGFIELD, Va., Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Versar, Inc. (AMEX: VSR), announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, GEOMET Technologies, Inc., located in Germantown, Md., has received authorization from the U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center to continue development of the Self-contained Toxic Environment Protective Outfit (STEPO). GEOMET has received notification of acceptance of the prototype design and government authorization to continue with development and fabrication under their current contract for an additional funding level of $2,728,596. Following delivery of prototype systems and the required technical data package, GEOMET will provide on- site support to Natick during the government-conducted Technical Test/User evaluation. Ultimately, the STEPO system will be used by Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Depot personnel to accomplish mission work in environments that pose immediate dangers to human life and health.
