VERSAPRO MONITORS OXYGEN FOR COMBUSTION TRIM EFFICIENCY.

Marathon Sensors, Cincinnati, Ohio, has introduced the new VersaPro(tm) single-loop process instrument. The VersaPro is capable of monitoring and controlling oxygen concentration in combustion trim applications, reducing fuel costs and pollution emissions.

Designed to work with zirconia-based oxygen sensors, the VersaPro automatically converts the raw sensor readings of oxygen concentration and temperature into industry-standard 4-20 mA signals. If using the VersaPro as a monitor, these signals are then routed to the process control system where they are used to control to the desired set-point. Alternatively, the VersaPro may also be used as a controller, negating the need for DCS interface. In this case, the VersaPro unit performs the necessary calculations and manipulates gas flow into the furnace in order to achieve the programmed set-point.

Setup of the unit is accomplished using an easy-to-read menu format with alphanumeric display. The unit provides simultaneous readings of both process variables (oxygen and temperature) for effortless observation. High dynamic range is achieved using 22-bit floating calculations. The flexibility of the VersaPro unit provides a cost-effective way to meet custom process control needs.
