VERIDIEN ACHIEVES PROFITABILITY AT CLOSE OF 1992

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/-- Veridien Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: VERD) announced today that it has reached a cr from its research and development mode to the commercialization of its biodegradable disinfectant and expected to achieve profitability by the end of 1992.
According to Veridien Board Chairman Paul L. Simmons, orders for the company's products received in December for January shipment were at a level sufficient to insure the company's goal of profitability. He said interest is extremely high for additional distributorships to sell the company's entire line of infection control products. The company expects to continue adding new distributors in its existing markets as well as expanding into several new areas including nursing homes and day care centers.
In December 1992, Veridien provided what it believed to be the final data required by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for approval of its 10-minute instrument sterilant. Introduction of the sterilant into the marketplace will increase revenues and profits substantially once final approval is obtained, according to Simmons.
Veridien also confirmed its intention to extend its products and infection control services to the hospital market. The Master Plan for Infection Control, authored by Simmons, addresses three major concerns for hospitals: infection control, disposal of biomedical waste and reduction of healthcare costs. The Master Plan will be put into place in a major Tampa Bay facility by the end of January and agreements with major hospital distributors are expected by the end of the first quarter.
Veridien Corporation is a healthcare company specializing in developing infection control products that are highly effective, easy to use and are non-hazardous to workers and the environment.
