VECTOR AEROMOTIVE CORP. FILES COMPLAINT AGAINST ITS FORMER PRESIDENT, GERALD A. WIEGERT

WILMINGTON, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Vector Aeromotive Corp.'s (NASDAQ: VCAR) executive committee today announced that it has filed a complaint against its former president, chairman and chief executive officer, Gerald A. Wiegert, requesting a declaratory judgment and a temporary restraining order against him. The complaint was filed in the Superior Court of California, Los Angeles County, case No. BC-077567.
According to court records, Vector's executive committee is seeking to restrain Wiegert from exercising an office he does not hold and to ask him to voluntarily vacate the premises immediately.
"The board was guided by its obligation to act in the best interests of the company and all of its shareholders," John Pope added. The board of directors is composed of Pope, Miami; George Fencl, Los Angeles; Baduraman Dorpi, Jakarta, Indonesia; and Wiegert, Los Angeles.
"Mr. Wiegert's behavior is consistent with his actions of ignoring the rightful authority of the board of directors, California law and sacrificing the best interest of the company and its shareholders," said Pope. "For Wiegert to imply that the board or any shareholder is conducting a `hostile takeover' is a delusion.
"Furthermore, his actions place the company at great risk, possibly adding to the list of charges in the damage suit that the company is preparing to file, in addition to the suit already filed," added Pope.
According to Pope, each board member reached his own independent decision on Weigert's termination.
The executive committee is anticipating a quick resolution of this situation in order to proceed with pre-production plans for the Vector Avtech WX3-R and WX3-C models.
