VC reckon Gunners are unlikely to fire; BETTING BRIEFING WEEKEND FOOTBALL BRIEFING.

Byline: Steve Davies

LAST weekend wasn't Arsenal's greatest and there are some big differences of opinion over how they respond.

Eduardo's broken leg and dropped points at Birmingham did little for the Gunners' title tilt but they are as short as 4-9 with Betdirect, Paddy Power and Stan James to bounce back against Aston Villa.

VCbet, however, are just 8-13 the Gunners and odds compiler Nick Blezard said: "They are going to have more than one eye on Milan in the Champions League next week, so they aren't my idea of a good thing."

Bet365 are out to get Manchester City. The Citizens, crestfallen by the double whammy of defeat by Everton and an injury to Micah Richards, are 4-7 with Coral and Ladbrokes to chin Wigan but a sizeable 4-5 with Bet365.

Punters betting on Premier League matches have never had it so good as more firms now offer competitive percentages in a bid to boost their market share, but there are also occasional nuggets down the card.

Hills, for example, are evens Bristol City against Hull - 8-11 with Skybet - in the Championship and the same two firms are at odds over Queen of the South's clash with Airdrie in Scottish Division Two. Hills are 11-4 Queen's who are just 7-4 with Skybet.

Fulham are 10-1 with Skybet to beat Manchester United at Craven Cottage but were available at 14 on Betfair yesterday as punters continue to desert Roy Hodgson's strugglers.

Among the firms featured in our Weekend Betting guide Totesport are best or joint-best about 13 teams on the Championship coupon and top-priced about 11 of the 12 draws.
