VC administers oath to MUOWA office bearers.
HYDERABAD -- The Vice Chancellor of Mehran University ofEngineering and Technology (MUET) administered oath to the newly elected office bearers of Mehran University Officers Welfare Association (MUOWA) at a ceremony held here on Monday.
Sagheer Ahmed Memon, Imdad Ali Bughio, Kashif Usman Dars, Ghazi Khan
Parehar, Syed Mohammad Raza Shah, Pervez Akhtar Bhatti and Samiullah Brohi took oath of their positions of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Finance Secretary, Social Secretary and Information Secretary, respectively.
The members of MUOWA's Executive Council also took the oath.
On the occasion, the newly elected president of MUOWA presented a
charter of demands to the Vice Chancellor.
According to MUOWA's Information Secretary Samiullah Brohi, the demands
include appointment of only administrative officers on the administrative positions rather than giving away such posts to the teachers and restoration of the posts like Additional Registrar, Additional Director and Additional Controller, among others.
The association also called for forming the service structure on the
lines of the federal government, providing training opportunities to the officers and timely promotions.
Speaking at the ceremony, MUOWA's President expressed regret that
instead of the administrative officers, teachers were being appointed on vital administrative posts like the Registrar.
He said that presently 12 teachers were posted on different
administrative positions, arguing that it goes against the system of merit and also denies opportunities to the administrative officers.
