VAN WATERS & ROGERS INC. NEGOTIATES TO SELL ITS TEXTILE CHEMICAL DISTRIBUTION BUSINESS

 KIRKLAND, Wash., Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Van Waters & Rogers Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Univar Corp. (NYSE: UVX; PSE), North America's largest distributor of chemicals, today announced that it is engaged in substantive discussions concerning the sale of its Textile Chemical Distribution business. This business contributed approximately $37 million to overall Univar sales of $1.8 billion in FY 93. The business will be sold in parts to leading Textile Chemical Distribution firms in several geographic markets. It is expected that definitive agreements will be concluded within the next several weeks.
 Univar Corp., headquartered in Kirkland, operates through three subsidiaries: Van Waters & Rogers Inc. in the United States, Van Waters & Rogers Ltd. in Canada, and Univar Europe in Europe.
