VALLIANI JOINS WYSE TO HEAD SYSTEMS BUSINESS

SAN JOSE, Calif., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Wyse Technology announced today that Aziz Valliani has joined the company as vice president and general manager of the Systems Division. He reports to President Daniel Wu, who was acting in the position. Valliani, 39, most recently was vice president and general manager of Acer America Corporation's Systems Solution Center, which is responsible for the Altos product line.
In his new role, Valliani will lead one of Wyse's three major profit and loss operations, with responsibility for product development, support and marketing for the company's multiprocessor systems and personal computer product lines.
"Aziz brings strong general management and engineering experience to our company," Wu said in announcing the appointment. "He will have the mission of building on the success we have had with our award-winning true symmetric multiprocessing systems and scalable personal computers."
Valliani said he joined Wyse "because I was very impressed with the company's potential and what it has already been able to achieve. At Wyse, I will have the opportunity to further optimize the key ingredients of both hardware and software necessary for leadership in the systems business. This position is a perfect fit with my background, and the new Series 7000i 760MP system is an excellent foundation for moving the business forward."
Previously, Valliani was with Acer America Corporation's Systems Solution Center and its acquired operation, Altos Computer Systems, for 10 years. He held various responsible positions in manufacturing and R&D and was named vice president of R&D in 1989. Before Altos, he was with Intel for five years in the microcomputer development systems and memory systems organizations, progressing to manager of engineering.
He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Pratt Institute.
