 VALLEY CAMP OF UTAH MINE PLACED ON STANDBY
 OIL CITY, Pa., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Valley Camp of Utah, Inc.


has placed its Belina Mine No. 1, on standby, effective June 30, it was announced today.
 A total of 39 salaried and hourly employees were laid off in late June.
 The company is aggressively seeking contracts that would permit it to reopen the mine, and a staff of 11 continues to operate shipping facilities and to maintain the mine on idle standby basis, capable of reopening on 24 hours notice.
 Valley Camp of Utah is part of The Valley Camp Coal Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Quaker State Corporation (NYSE: KSF). During the past three years, Valley Camp of Utah has accounted for about 17 percent of Valley Camp's average annual coal production of approximately 3.2 million tons per year.
