Uwchaled's young farmers retain winter fair title.

UWCHALED'S young farmers retained their title in Clwyd YFC's Winter Fair at Ruthin market.

In a good week for the club, it also won the county carcase competition held at the J Williams & Co abattoir, Denbigh.

Uwlchaled's Harri Kynaston was named Senior Stockman and he later teamed up with Jack Robinson to win the tractor driving and ATV handling.

Chipping in with another victory for Uwlchaled were Elain Jones and Ceridwen Edwards in the Christmas tree dressing.

Getting the nod as junior stockman was Dafydd Jones, of Ruthin YFC. His club also won the junior team competition, with the senior title going to Treuddyn YFC.

Carcase competition: U17 - Elgan Hughes, Betws yn Rhos; U19 - Elain Evans, Uwchaled; U22 - Aled Jones, Llangollen; U27 - Catrin Jones, Betws yn Rhos.

Other events: Lamb trimming - Dewi Parry, Betws yn Rhos. Decorate a Xmas Tree - Elain Jones & Ceridwen Edwards, Uwchaled; Tractor driving - Jack Robinson & Hari Kynaston, Uwchaled; Fferm Factor - Sam Jones & Elwy Lloyd, Ruthin.
