Utley & Godwin.

Amanda Rosamond Utley and Nicholas Allen Godwin were united in marriage on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at half past six o'clock in the evening. The ceremony took place in the historic Evans Chapel of Germantown Presbyterian Church in Germantown, Tennessee.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wayne Utley of Germantown, Tennessee. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Lillian Brown and the late Mr. Ted Barnes Brown of Germantown, Tennessee, and Mrs. Wilma Rosamond Utley and the late Mr. Jacob Prentyce Utley of Jackson, Tennessee.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Debra Godwin Benke and the late Mr. Allen Jackson Godwin of Byhalia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Council Person of Collierville, Tennessee, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Jackson Godwin of Memphis, Tennessee.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of ivory silk organza with a sweetheart neckline and shirred bodice embellished with seed pearls and crystal beading. The full ballroom skirt featured beautifully gathered pick-ups which flowed into the chapel-length train. Her two-tier ivory illusion veil fell from a pearl and crystal tiara borrowed from her sister. The bride carried a bouquet of white peonies and cream hydrangeas hand-tied with satin ribbon.

The bride's sisters, Rachel Utley Andrews and Jessica Leigh Utley, served as matron and maid of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were Brenna Rose Bassett, Katie Allison Compton, and Laura Brittany Taranski. The bridesmaids wore strapless knee-length dresses of canary-yellow brushed satin. Their bouquets were hand-tied with a mixture of spring flowers, including hydrangeas, peonies, anemones, and jasmine. The flower girl was Morgan Louise Benke, niece of the groom. She wore an ivory tea-length dress with a yellow sash and a halo of baby's breath.

Larry Andrew Godwin, uncle of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Nathan Charles Grace, Gene Davis Herndon, William Brett Pilkinton, and John Prentyce Utley, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was James Cobb Andrews Jr., nephew of the bride.

Rev. Blake Hudson and Rev. Andy Savage officiated at the ceremony. Ceremony music was provided by Holly Lauren Long, vocalist and Carolyn Mason, organist.

Following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted an outdoor reception at Lichterman Nature Center where candle-filled mason jars lined the walkway, leading guests to the beautiful outdoor pavilion. There guests dined on favorite Southern foods of the bride and groom and danced to the music of the Eddie Smith Band.

On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Virgil Benke hosted a rehearsal dinner in honor of the wedding party at The Butcher Shop in Germantown, Tennessee. The bridesmaids' luncheon was held earlier that day at Owen Brennan's in Memphis, Tennessee.

Following a honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Byhalia.
