Urine test strip. (Products).

Multistix PRO reagent strips assess the risk for kidney disease by measuring the concentration of protein in urine. With a sensitivity of 8-15 mg/dL, the strips are less sensitive than other dipstick protein tests to potential interferences, such as specific gravity and pH. The strips also measure the level of creatinine, making them the only dipstick test that estimates the protein/creatinine ratio. Results can be read by a Clinitek 50 analyzer in a physician's office in 60 seconds, according to Bayer Diagnostics, 914-631-8000; fax, 914-524-2132.
