This is the second volume in a series published by the Academy of Urbanism, an organization established in the UK in 2006 to foster dialogue among designers, planners, and citizens about the built environment at every scale. Attractively and clearly designed with numerous color photos and some maps and drawings, this volume contains discussion of Amsterdam, Barcelona & Berlin (the article is titled "Great cities don't just happen: they are made!"); Kilkenny, St. Andrews & Winchester (small cities); and Soho, Temple Bar and Grainger Town (three areas of a creative quarter), among other topics. There is no subject index.
