Updated Building Component Safety Information available.

WTCA (formerly the Wood Truss Council of America) and TPI (the Truss Plate Institute) have introduced the 2006 edition of Building Component Safety Information (BCSI): Guide to Good Practice for Handling, Installing, Restraining, and Bracing of Metal Plate Connected Wood Trusses. The guide for jobsite safety and truss performance, which replaces BCSI 1-03, now includes information on hoisting and placement of truss bundles, long span truss installation, and hip set assembly and bracing. Revision and updates also include discussion of design and installation of permanent restraint, bracing or reinforcement for trusses and individual truss members and toe-nailed connections for attaching trusses at bearing locations. The booklet has been reformatted for use in the office or at the jobsite. For ordering information, visit
