Up, or down? Yes, or no?

Who should you believe? In a fast-paced environment, maybe nobody.

In our Jan/Feb issue, we reported that Wisconsin was making preparations to call out the National Guard on New Year's Eve, 1999.

Just days after we repeated that in our March/April number, the state legislature said it wasn't going to happen. (The only reason given in the news reports was that the press was sensationalizing the action.)

Today (Feb. 18), as we're starting to lay out May/June, we just heard on the radio that Gov. Thompson is going to pave the way for calling out the Guard for Y2K.

What's the truth? Ask us next January 2.
