Unocal's polymer business sold.

Keeping to the year-end timetable set when it originally announced its polymers business was for sale last spring, Unocal Corp., Los Angeles, CA, has sold the unit to Rohm & Haas, Philadelphia, PA.

The Unocal polymers business, which has six U.S. plants and a technical center in Charlotte, NC, had revenues of $160 million in 1990. In a statement announcing the sale Nov. 18, Rohm & Haas, which had $1.24 billion in revenue from its polymers business last year, said the Unocal business "will complement nicely our own strengths" and "will enable us to provide a broader product line."
