HARPER SYSTEMS CELEBRATES 25TH ANNIVERSARY

Founded in 1968, Harper Systems Company -- the flagship of the Universal Communications Companies -- was primarily a dictating machine sales and service organization.

Following divestiture in 1972, Harper Systems Company began to sell telephone systems to businesses in the Little Rock area. It was one of the first privately owned telephone interconnect companies in Arkansas. Telephone systems are still the primary revenue source for Harper Systems Company, but we are still a very strong presence in the dictating, facsimile and voice mail markets.

Following the break-up of the monopoly of the Bell Telephone System, the telephone equipment market literally exploded. All businesses were given the choice of which equipment they preferred to purchase, as well as a choice of vendors to provide the equipment. Harper Systems Company quickly established itself as a leader in this new marketplace. Because of our dedication to customer satisfaction and providing a SOLUTION to business needs, we have remained a rock-solid communications choice.

VOICE MEMO OF ARKANSAS

In 1986, Universal Communications purchased Voice Memo of Arkansas, a pager and voice messaging service bureau. It's message storage and retrieval service operates automatically, through advanced computer technology, to answer calls 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, from any telephone, in any language, anywhere in the world. Voice Memo gives business customers the competitive edge by providing Motorola Pagers, voice mail services, announcement services, choices of regional, statewide and 800 services, and many more. Year after year, communication becomes more and more critical to business people. Voice Memo has successfully been keeping pace with the technology in this market to keep our business customers a step ahead.
