United reaches new tentative deal with pilots' union.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

United Airlines has reached a tentative agreement with its pilots' union.

The two parties reached an agreement on a revised concession deal after the previous version was dismissed by a judge as being unfair to other unions. The United chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association Master Executive Council has unanimously recommended that the union's 6,400 pilots ratify the agreement, with balloting expected to start tomorrow (20 January) and continue until 31 January.

No details have been released by either party, but the airline has said that the savings that would be the outcome are similar to the ones outlined by the previous, rejected, agreement, The Associated Press reported.
