TJFA Under-16s Challenge Cup Round One Marske United 4 Hartlepool St Francis 2 IN the first ever meeting of the teams, the deadlock was broken when a great pass from Tyler Simmonds was controlled and finished by Beckham Stockton.

Marske made it 2-0 but Hartlepool responded just before half-time.

The second half saw much of the same, but nerves were settled when Stockton broke through and supplied Lewis Carney with a great volley.

Again the visitors responded to get within a single goal, but Callum Atkinson finished a great team move to seal their place in the next round of the competition.

TJFA Division Two Polton Blues 2 Marske Utd 2 MARSKE battled well in a tricky visit to a team which hit eight goals in their opening match of the season.

The hosts went ahead through Ashley McCabe and Marske missed an opportunity to draw level when Beckham Stockton's penalty was well saved.

But Marske's star striker soon found his touch as he latched onto a great pass from Zaffer Adiguzel to equalise.

In a tense game Polton again took the lead, but Marske showed their resolve with a late equaliser from Luke Martin to ensure the visitors kept their unbeaten start to the season intact.

Marske United Under-16s would like to send their thoughts and wishes to the family of Rhya Story.
