United fans top travel table.
United supporters topped the cost of travel league table based on the amount of travelling to away games.
In one season, dedicated Newcastle fans will travel an astonishing 8,128 miles.
The journey has been extended by 678 miles this season, thanks to the arrival of Premiership new boys Portsmouth.
Supporters who travel by train will spend, on average, pounds 2,053 this season and pounds 817 if they travel by car.
Although coach travel is the cheapest mode of transport it will cost Newcastle fans pounds 700.
Middlesbrough also scored high on the table, coming fourth in the league.
Their fans travel 6,788 miles and pay pounds 1,791 for rail travel and pounds 682 for petrol.
The figures only cover away league matches but Newcastle supporters are expected to pay more as the team bid for domestic cups and the European Champions League.
